RE: awning problem

Harley -
I can forward you a PDF version of the A&E manual.
Just PM me your email address.
It's actually instructions on removing/replacing awning & it shows how to retension.
I used these instructions on mine and it worked great.
Just be careful!

RE: Drain Valve Plumbing

If it's anything like the odd set-up on my Landau, I solved it with a 45 deg. clear elbow to route hose thru the offset opening in the floor:

RE: F-53 V/10 Use Royal Purple?

From everything I've read on here and the Ford Truck (FTE) forums, The V10 loves simple old Wallyworld Motorcraft 5W20 or 5W30.

RE: Looking to buy an '02 Georgie Boy Pursuit

P12,
Here's some reading for ya:
GBM Owners thread
F53 Owners
In my opinion, If you're not going to buy in the Monaco/Newmar level, then GBM is a great value for the buck.
Really check the rig out, Spend a whole day in it, crawl thru it remove everything that's removable (draws, seats, doors ect.) and look behind. Try everything to see if and how it works! Inside & out.
DRIVE IT! Highway, Backroads, Bumpy roads, Smooth roads.
If tires are 5-7 yrs old (check date stamp on tiress) they'll need replacing.
As you'll see if you read thru those links, there's lots of little tweaks that everyone has done to make their rigs better.
but I'd say that this is pretty typical with all manufactures.
Very happy with my old GBM (Until I can get a shiny new Monaco :) )

RE: Boston City Tour / Campground

Probably your best-bet for campground recommendations:
NORMANDY FARMS
MINUTEMAN
PINEWOOD LODGE
I'd then talk to the CG staff for Tour options -
but, DUCK TOURS is the most common one I've heard of.

RE: My Remodel

Excellent Thom!
I'm getting ready to rework my interior pretty much along the same lines as yours.
Wood floors & dying the cockpit carpet were on my to-do list.
My question is on the re-upholstery -
What did you use and what type of $'s did it run you?
I was looking at new captain chairs & jacknife couch, but that may be a better option.

RE: Fridge Fins/Sensor ??

Thanks guys.
Last night I moved it as far right as it would reach and placed at top of that fin.
I'll see how that effects the temp today.

Fridge Fins/Sensor ??

I know I've read this before but can't seem to locate with the search:
Does anyone know the how the sensor location works?
I believe it was either moving it Left/Right or Up/Down effected the fridge's cooling.
My Wife accidentally pulled it off last year when cleaning and I've been getting frosted fins ever since.
(My fridge is a Norcold if that matters.)

RE: Generator cleaning

Just cleaned my Onan.
I was getting ready to do my first oil change on it and the previose owner's had left it with a pretty good buid-up of oil/crud.
Gave it a spray coating of awsome cleaner, let it sit for a few minutes, and then hit it with the pressure washer (used about a 12" wide fan spray).
Started right up and looks brand new!
Just be careful spraying around the electrical items.

RE: Help - IPOD/MP3 ?'s

Thanks for all the info guys!
Played with Itunes, ripping a couple CD's, and loading to my Daughter's IPOD.
Itunes does seem pretty slick & easy!
Now maybe look into an external harddrive for backing-up our music and pictures.
Thanks again.

RE: Help - IPOD/MP3 ?'s

they're old fogie PC heads.
Hey! I resemble that remark! :B
What does DRM actually do?
Sounds like you download from Itunes to your PC, but then can only copy it off to a IPOD or CD a certain # of times?

RE: Help - IPOD/MP3 ?'s

Sooo, Do I understand correctly, that I do need Itunes to add music to my daughter's shuffles?
If I went out and bought a Creative MP3 player for myself, would I need a seperate program to use with that? (Maybe since they already have the IPODs, it would be better to stick with the IPOD?)
Isn't Itunes usually where people download their music from?
Are there other safe download sites?
I was just thinking of the flash drives to back-up music that you've bought and downloaded. I'm assuming you don't want to just keep it on the PC hard drive for space reasons and so you don't lose it if computer crashes?

Help - IPOD/MP3 ?'s

Ok Techies, steer me in the right direction.
My old Windows ME computer finally died and I replaced it with a basic Dell Inspiron 530 w/ Windows XP.
My daughters have both had IPOD Shuffles since Xmas that they couldn't use with the old Windows ME. I think that with the new XP they'll now be usable??
My questions:
* Is Itunes the way to go? What are the drawbacks? (Have'nt I read about it being "restrictive" in some ways?)
* Storing Download & CD music on computer - Can this be put on an external drive instead of the "C" drive? If so, will those cheap little USB Flash Drives work for this?
* I'd also like to get into this for my music (Take old CD's and put into an IPOD library). I'd like to put a new player in the MH that'll have IPOD connections. Is an IPOD the best way to go? What's the difference between the IPOD and one of the cheaper MP3 players?
Any and all info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

RE: Bicycle Rack

Used the ladder rack on my "C".
Two adult bikes on the ladder and two kids bikes on a front mounted rack.
Ladder rack is definetly doable (and a cheap way to go). You get used to how to flip the bikes up there and then just strap/bungee so they can't move around. Never had any problems or damage.
I've switched to a 4-bike Allen receiver rack (Great value) on my "A".
I now use the old ladder rack to hold the beach chairs on the ladder!

RE: Help, thinking of buying a 30 ft class A gas

2000 GBM 30' on the Ford F53 w/ V10.
Basic - no slides.
Love the rig. (Staying in it, driving it, and working on it!)
Easy to handle and easy to maintain.
Bought it right and then upgraded tires, shocks, maintainence items & handling equipment.
I manually keep track of MPG on every tank - pull a strong 8-10 under most conditions.
I think these basic 30' rigs (most mfgs have pretty much the same layout), in that 2000+ year range are a great bang for your buck nowadays!
Take your time, Look around, find a good deal & enjoy!
Good Luck!

RE: Help on Cape Cod

So far Bay View is our favorite!
Just booked a last minute vacation -Heading down the last week before school starts.
Our girls aren't giant "all-day" beach fans, so BV works out well for us - 2 pools, tennis courts, ball field, snack shack, etc.
We like to hang at the campground most of the day then hit a beach late afternoon/early evening, with a cooler and some sandwichs, to watch the sun go down.
Also a good base to explore the lower cape from.
Best of all, only about 1 hr from home :)
Can't wait!
